Topical Edition of EPJD – your action needed

Dear PSAS’22 Participants,

Topical Chairs of PSAS’22 are working toward preparing the Topical Edition of European Physical Journal D devoted to the PSAS’22 conference. However, to proceed with the project, we need to estimate the interests of participants in contributing to the Topical Edition. Therefore we asked to submit a short form (available under the button below) that will help us estimate the interest. Please submit the form until 26 May 2022.

Statement of the PSAS’2022 Organizers

The organizers of PSAS would like to express their sympathy and solidarity with citizens of the Ukraine. We condemn the unprovoked war that Russia is imposing on the Ukraine. We are shocked by the continuing destruction and war crimes being committed at the heart of Europe. At the same time we see clear criticism from the Russian civil society despite severe punishment for free speech that has been imposed.

Registration open!

Dear Colleagues,
It is our pleasure to confirm that the next International Conference on Precision Physics of Simple Atomic Systems (PSAS) will be held, as a face-to-face event, in Warsaw on 16-20 May 2022. The Local Organizing Team plans to broadcast conference presentations and secure access for people who would not be able join the local event.

The registration for the conference is currently open with a special early registration fee available until 10 April 2022 – please visit the conference webpage to see details. The Local Organizing Committee has secured a limited number of grants for students to cover accommodation costs during the conference. Those grants could be requested during the registration process or by direct contact with the Local Organising Committee.

The PSAS conference is devoted to precision studies of simple atoms and molecules to develop new approaches and assess fundamental issues with the atomic and BSM physics. Applications include aspects from particle and nuclear physics, atomic and molecular physics, astrophysics, and metrology, among others.

The conference continues a series of successful PSAS meetings. The 2022 edition will be lead by topical conference chairs:
Thomas Udem, Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics
• Vladimir Yerokhin, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University
• Wim Ubachs, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam
• Paolo Crivelli, ETH Zürich

For more information, please get in touch with us by sending an email to: psas@fuw.edu.pl / psas2022@candela.org.pl or visiting our website – psas.fuw.edu.pl

We are looking forward to seeing you in Warsaw,

Announcement of PSAS 2022 and opening of pre-registration

Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to announce the 11th International Conference on Precision Physics of Simple Atomic Systems – PSAS’2022 – scheduled initially for 2020 in Wuhan, China and delayed by the SARS-Cov-2, will take place in Warsaw, Poland, from May 16th to 20th 2022 as an in-person event.

Pre-registration is open. The conference will be hosted at the Faculty of Physics (FUW) and held in the University of Warsaw Biological and Chemical Research Centre (CNBCh). While in-person participation is encouraged and the conference chairs will prioritize contributions with declared in-person participation, it will be possible to access the conference talks on-line, free of charge.

PSAS Conference is devoted to precision studies of simple atomic and molecular systems and new approaches to access  fundamental constants and symmetries. We encourage submission of contributions in the following areas:

  • precision spectroscopy of light atoms, ions and molecules
  • determination of fundamental constants
  • search for BSM interactions in atomic systems
  • violation of fundamental symmetries in light atomic systems
  • leptonic atoms: positronium and muonium
  • spectroscopy of muonic, antiprotonic and pionic atoms
  • CPT tests with antihydrogen
  • few-electron ions with medium and high Z
  • lepton g-factor, free or bound
  • electromagnetic moments of light nuclei
  • precision tests of  quantum electrodynamics
  • Casimir effect and its applications

The Local Organizing Committee secured a limited number of grants for students, to cover accommodation during the conference and reduced conference fee. More details are available on the website.

We are looking forward to seeing you in Warsaw,
Conference chairs
